Book
I am thrilled to announce that my first cookbook, Gluten-Free Baking for the Holidays: 60 Recipes for Traditional Festive Treats, comes out from Chronicle Books on October 10, 2012.
It concentrates on the fall/winter holiday season: Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, New Year’s and Twelfth Night–you know, the months when everything seems to be about baking. This book covers all the traditional favorites, as well as cherished family recipes. These recipes make baked treats so good, you will be proud to serve them to your family and friends at the parties, dinners, breakfasts, potlucks, and all of the events that require festive food during this most celebratory of seasons!
I am honored that Nancy Baggett, one of my baking goddesses and author of many of my favorite baking cookbooks, has written the foreward.
Extra deliciousness: The photos are by Clare Barboza, with styling done by Helene Dujardin, two of the most talented women I have ever had the good fortune to work with.
This book is gonna rock your holiday stockings off!

I promise to buy a couple of copies, I absolutely love your baking, your style and your sense of food. Good luck with the book! And btw, my husband thanks you too, our house has been much yummier since we found you!
Jennifer: Aw, you are so nice! Thank you!! Have a terrific holiday season!
I can wait! And you have Helene doing your styling? Lucky you!
Linda: Yes! Helene did the styling on the book! I had so much fun working with her!
ahem – that was supposed to be “can’t” not “can”.
Love your site, enjoy your Twitter too! (I wish you would write more about your chickens).
I’m curious why you hired a photographer, since Helene is so great at styling and photography?
Debbi: Who hires the photographer and whether or not there is a stylist is based on what the publisher wants to do and what is in your contract. My publisher reserved the right to hire the photographer they wanted. I suggested Clare (who lives in Seattle and is awesome!). They agreed and hired her. Then Clare hired Helene as stylist. That meant that I had two amazing women working on the photos for the book! I am so lucky!
Thank you! I agree both amazing!
I am excited for your book! I know I will be purchasing at least 2 copies as my mom & I recently have found out we are gluten intolerant (explaining years of “unexplained” medical issues). We have always loved baking and to find out you can’t have those items in the same manner anymore was upsetting. But once I found your site….we are enjoying baking the breads, cookies and cakes that we have always done. Thank you again for your wonderful site!
Tina: Oh, I’m so glad the site is helpful!! Yay–that is always so good to hear! Happy baking!
I like how you said it’s your FIRST book, like there will be multitudes! Yes!
Becca: Yes, I hope so!
